Ote perusteluista Suomen ehdokkaalle
"Timo Korhonen is a dedicated professional with a profound and warm approach that shows a deep understanding and appreciation of the art of documentary film. He took a bold challenge in producing a documentary musical that takes a stand on current societal phenomena and is not afraid of using tools of fiction. Ruthless Times – Songs of Care skilfully dismantles an abstract topic, the crisis in elderly care, while engaging the audience emotionally. The film explores the possibilities of the documentary form in a unique way, with the producer’s contribution being remarkable in the creative process."

The nominees for the Nordic Documentary Producer Award have been announced
The Nordisk Panorama film festival is launching a new award to acknowledge the work of Nordic documentary producers.

Based on these proposals, the board of the Finnish Documentary Guild has chosen Timo Korhonen as the Finnish nominee. Read an excerpt from the nomination below. The other nominees are Monica Hellström (Denmark), Heather Millard (Iceland), KriStine Ann Skaret (Norway), and Stina Gardell (Sweden).
The award winner will be chosen by the Nordisk Panorama board and announced at the Awards Gala in Malmö, Sweden on the 26th of September. The Finnish Documentary Guild is one of the sponsoring organizations for the award. The total value of the award is 10 000 €.
The award is granted based on work completed within the previous five years, to a producer who has shown courage, taken risks, broken new paths, has helped ensure the development of emerging talents and progressed documentary as an art form.
By establishing this pan-Nordic initiative, Nordisk Panorama hopes to give rise to discussions surrounding the great efforts involved in film production.
